You can message any college student registered on UniversityHosts prior to requesting a tour; however, once you have paid and confirmed your tour date, you will receive an email and the phone number of your host. We highly encourage you to contact with your host to finalize all the details of your visit. Your host will also have your contact information, and they are also encouraged to try to get in touch with you.
When do the tours start and end?
Tours usually start in the morning anywhere between 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. You will have to coordinate with your host in order to set up an exact meeting time that works for both of you. Tours usually end in the evening time (anywhere from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.).
Where do I meet my host?
You will have to coordinate with your host to set up a meeting place that works best for you and your host. We recommend discussing with your host after you have confirmed the tour.
Can I message a host before confirming a tour?
You have the option to message any host available on UniversityHosts.com. It is against our terms and conditions to set up tours outside UniversityHosts.com
What do I have to bring for an overnight stay?
You should communicate with your host to see what you need for your overnight stay. We recommend that you to bring toiletries and clothes for your overnight stay. A sleeping bag and a pillow might be necessary depending on the accommodations of the host.
How much does day-long and overnight tour cost?
Day-long: $99.99
Overnight: $149.99
Are my parents allowed to come along with me?
No, parents are prohibited from coming along with you on tours.
Will lunch and dinner be provided by my host?
No, you will have to pay for or bring your own lunch and dinner. Please coordinate with your host regaring the best option for food during the day of the tour.
How can I get an excuse of absence note?

How do I get in touch with my guest?
You will receive the phone number and email of your guest after the tour is confirmed. We encourage you to contact your guest as soon as possible to set up the time and get the location finalized. If it is an overnight then coordinate with them to see what things they will need to bring with them in order to make their over night stay comfortable.
I have completed my profile, now what?
Once you have completed a profile, you will receive an email if any high school students have requested a tour from you. We recommend that you complete your profile as thoroughly as possible as this will increase your chances of being picked as a tour guide by high school students. Please keep your profile as updated and as accurate as possible.
When should I contact my guest?
You should contact your guest within 12 hours after the tour is confirmed.
Where will I meet my guest?
You will be given your guest’s contact information. It is highly recommended that you contact your guest to coordinate the details of where to meet on the day of the tour.
How much do I get paid?
Daylong: $80.00
Overnight: 120.00

When do I get paid?
It take 3 days after the tour for money to be cleared. You can withdraw the money into your paypal account or have a checked shipped to your for free.

What do I need to provide for an overnight stay?
An overnight stay is a extended version of day-long tour with the high school student staying overnight at your dorm/apartment. This is so that the high school student get a feel of what it is like being a student at the university for a full day. If you have an extra bed, sofa, pillow, or sleeping bag for your guest then you should communicate with your guest so that he or she can pack lightly.
What is expected of me? What should I do for a day-long and overnight tour?
It is expected that you provide an accurate image of college life from a student's perspective at your university. You can take your guest to classes, dining halls, dorm rooms, libraries, and anywhere you think is necessary to get a full feel of the campus. You should ask your guest what he or she wants to do prior of the day of the tour so that you can better accommodate his or her requests.
Will I have to pay for lunch or dinner for the guest?
No, you are not responsible for paying for the guest's lunch or dinner.
